Yup!.....hot hardware points that way too!.... didn't even know you could buy 300W PSUs anymore....I had one last century.... in the late 80s that is!

I read you can loose 10% to 15% of the wattage output per year with high workload.....at least your getting somewhere with the fault finding

Well i intend to buy a 650W CoolerMaster GX.  The load time from pc boot tothe install option seems to lag and, like i said, my GPU fan wont even spin so this is the thing i'll try next, probably this week.  If not then i dunno.

I have to say that I raise my hat to you, for being able to get anywhere with only a 300 Watt PSU!  :o

Yes, the PSU could really be the cause of all your problems and, if you look in the User's Manual you'll notice that Gigabyte recommend a PSU of at least 500Watts.

They state:
Quote
If a power supply is used that does not provide the required power, the result can lead to an unstable or unbootable system.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Well i've had my share of shut downs up until now lol.  Oh well tomorrowi'm getting a 650Watt PSU and a new SATA hard drive, then Monday i'm getting a new GPU.  Gonna cost me about £200 but i guess i'll have to do it...

Ah, the joys of keeping up with technology. Endless research and bottomless pockets are two of the main things you need.  :D

I really just hope that it IS the power supply causing this problem because i'm going to be pissed if it isn't after spending money.
