gigabyte ud3r x58a revision 2 BIOS FF

Hello, i just change my bios to latest FF bios my motherboard is gigabyte ud3r x58a revision 2.
i want some infos to configure my bios. the basic, i have the rams kingston 1600 mhz, 7-8-7-20 i have them on extreme memory profile.
i want to make the ram manual to those timings and mhz, and i want to know what to disable from the other options.
like cpu(auto-enable-disable)(the turbo technology option). the c1e support for the thermal cpu usage lower power consumption and all theese.
i want my pc runs faster without low power at idle.

I take it that you want to overclock your system and that is why you want to set everything by hand is that right?

yes but first i want to configure all the bios setings correctly and last the overclock. please help me

First if your going to overclock you will need to disable the extreme memory profile as it does not seem to work when overclocking. I have the same board running the FB bios with a i7 930, see sig. I found I can easily run 3.5 Ghz on auto settings. I did change the CPU voltage from auto to normal because when on auto the voltage was being cranked up for nothing. I wanted the best OC I could get at stock voltage with EIST etc still enabled. If your looking for the max OC you can get your going to need to learn a lot and spend some serious time. Yes I would agree with Bill. You need to do a lot of background homework first so that you not only understand what you are doing but why you are doing it. It is not possible to just tell someone what figures to put into the BIOS to enable them to overclock as each board/cpu is different.

Yes i know guyz, first of all i want to configure the thermal setings like c1c3 state support and the others like bi prochohot somethink like that i want the power stays always on and cpu at high .
can you please tell me what setings to enable or to disable there?
and bill, i dont want to make max overclock my intel i7 960 is at 3,2 i want to make it arround 3,8.

If you want CPU to always remain at the highest speed, you have to disable Intel Speedstep.  To do that set EIST and C1E to disabled.

Bi-Prochot can be left enabled or disabled, that has nothing to do with what you mentioned and will be fine either way.

yes you are right, but i have see with bi pro disable, i have faster boot at windows welcome :p i dont know if that is correct.

Bi-Prochot just sends a signal to the CPU and board, or not, when the processor overheats and reaches PROCHOT status, it does not affect booting times at all

It is just a safety setting that stops the CPU from overheating so I would suggest enabling it.

If you are going for a high overclock then I would advise disabling theTurboBoost.

Personally I would recommend disabling it and set it all to manual.

Turbo Boost just adds an extra bit of speed at the top end when you are needing it if it is enabled.
