Hi- I built this a pc last year.Anyway, last night I replaced one of my dvd burners, and did some general cleaning of dust on the inside.I was having trouble getting my video card out. There is a small cheap lever that releases the video card from the slot. That broke while I was pushing on it to release the video card.I was pissed to say the least.
I put everything back together, and the card seems to fit in snug minus the lever that controls the slot.I started my pc and had no problems.I turned on my pc today, and my monitor says it does not have a signal.I checked all the connections, opened up my case, and made sure my video card was seated in the slot.I started it up again, and it works fine.
I am wondering if that lever breaking caused the problem. Now I wonder if the vibration from turning up the fan on the video card will cause this problem again, and short something out.I'm not sure if that is the problem at all,but I'm concerned.I am using this pc now,and it seems ok.
Here are my specs..
