[SOLVED] GB P67A-UD7 RMA Question
« on: February 20, 2011, 02:29:20 pm »
Hey guys.
A few hours ago i noticed a very sad problem with my MB. I know about the issue with the SATA ports on this board and i had no plans returning it because i do not use these ports. And here is the problem; yesterday i got myself a new PSU (AX1200W from Corsair) plugged everything in and it worked perfect, i thought. But after about 17 hours of use it suddenly turned of when i watched TV. I thought hibernating kicked in since i had been away from my computer a while, so i tried to turn it on. Then i just heard a "click" sound from my PSU and the computer shut down (it clicked off right before it turned off, like a switch inside the PSU) and it turned on again by itself, the same thing happend. This could go on forever, never stopped! So i thought it would be the PSU, because it was new and everything. So i tried the PSU on my other system, and it worked perfect without any shutdown issues. Then tried my OLD PSU on P67A-UD7 MB and the same thing happend. Turned on for 2-3 sec then turned off, and on again...

Anyone know what could be wrong? And if i do have to return it, do i have to wait until April for my new MB because of this SATA issue with all Intel serie 6 chipset?  :'(

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

It might be worth just checking that there is no short to the chassis.

I think it is bad news and will need to be returned for RMA. I am not sure on your location but in most places the motherboard would be returned almost straight away as far as I know.

Could be a smart thing to start with, check the small things before you start changing PSU like crazy all day long  :D
