Ex58;Extreme A6 post code

Hello to all this is my first post on the board as a new member.
I'm having  a problem with my ex58-extreme motherboard its an icore 7 920 with 6 gigs of corsair dominator memory that runs at 1600mhz. I've had a couple of bios recoverys since I built this computer it's been up and running for 2  years(a guess)with no other issues  well I left it on yesterday and went to dinner when I came back its posting the code A6 instead of my usual FF  . everything I'm seeing on the net seems to indicate a memory problem or motherboard failure.I have done all resets and have moved and reinstalled all the memory in different slots and also have tried them 1 at a time with no change in  the A6 code.Any help would be great ,Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I think the first thing to do is a full extended CMOS clear. Please follow these instructions.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Opimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.
