I know this is an older thread, but did you find a solution as I have wasted 8 hours of my life trying to fix exactly the same problem. You have virtually an exact copy of my machine - 470 Graphics, 12Mb ram, Windows 7 64 bit and so on. I can build a raid for about 30 seconds, but then discs drop out after a few seconds, and then won't remount without a restart.
If you have a solution, I would love to know what you did!
regards
Martin

Hi
A little mis information I'm afraid.
The Mobo is a GA-X58A-UD5 rev 1 Bios F4. 12Gb RAM, 470 Graphics card, Blackmagic Design Studio card. I've been using  4 x 1.5 Gb hard drives on the Intel on-board Raid controller, which works fine but experiencing speed problem on HD footage. I bought a RocketRAID 2720 and 4 x Seagate Barracuda ST2000DL003 2Tb hard drives.
Using the GUI to set up the Raid is OK at first, then after 10 seconds or so a disc will drop out, disabling the Raid. Them another will drop out and so on. Re-scanning the drives doesn't bring them back up, they dissapper until a re-boot. Tried single disc and 2 discs both as RAID 0 and JBOD, still drops out. Moving the SATA breakout cable to the second set of ports on the 2720 has no effect, still discs drop out. Not a power issue, large HQ PSU.
All software up to date except Mobo Bios which I'll try later.
Seems odd that previous poster has exactly the same problem.

You say you are using a software RAID, well I would always go for a BIOS setup array as it seems more stable. The other thing to check is do your disks support TLER as if they don't it can cause problems.
