Then it could be BIOS is not S3 sleep capable yet?   Or this could be due to you using speedstep since you keep mentioning 1600Mhz, when you say that you mean CPU speed right?

What BIOS are you using?   I can test S3 Sleep on UD4 tonight, but I'll use the latest BIOS

I can test B2 or B3 BIOSes, let me know which you want tested.

I am using Bios F3. If you could test that would be great.

Anyone come across anymore information regardin this issue? I have been back and forth with gigabyte but they are saying they are not experienceing the same problem.
Im at my wits end with this one. My CPU voltage always drops to 1.28 after i resume from sleep, regardless of what setting i have.
Is your UD4 doing the same? Or should i think of RMA?

I will test tomorrow for you.

Please tell me what voltages you need me to test above, and what CPU/memory speeds and timings you want me to test with.  And for how long should I let the system sleep?

I will be using this BIOS, since I have my UD4 flash over to B3 now, so if you have a B2 board you should RMA it for B3 or flash over to B3 BIOSes
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xt1wl8l5hciqdsz

If you need to flash over to B3 BIOSes, you'll have to use this modified BIOS and flash with @BIOS, then use ALT + F12 once you get it all going, to flash the backup BIOS to match and be a B3 BIOS as well. Then once you get to both BIOSes on B3, flash the above linked BIOS with Qflash, and then again do the ALT+F12 to match the backup BIOS.

Hi there,
Thanks for testing this.
I am using a B3 board with a 2500K. F3 biosfrom the Gigabyte site (i have used the modded ones but same problems)

I have everything at stock. Then apply a 46X multiplier, CPU voltage of 1.36, and memory XMP profile. Regardless if the CE1 powersaving features are off/on the problems still persits. S3 sleep enabled in the bios.
Boot to windows and open HW monitor to see the voltages. Run an test of Prime95 to see its fully stable and the CPU voltage hovers around 1.36 as it should.
Put the system to sleep for any matter of time, even seconds. At this point when i run Pime95 a core instantly fails and when i look at HW monitor my CPU voltage has dropped to 1.28.

I have tried so much to get round this. If i up the voltage in the bios to 1.4, it still drops to 1.28. If i drop the multiplier to 40, still reverts to 1.28 voltage.
I am basically stuck from going any higher that 1.28 voltage if i use the sleep function.
I am so frustrated with this and its the only thing wrong with my near perfect new build.
I would actually pay someone if they provided a fix for this, its that annoying!

Thanks for any help

Getting somewhere with this tonight.

I notice that when i disable LLC in the BIOS and boot with a 46 multiplier and 1.36v the voltage readout in HWmonitor drops to 1.28 as soon as i run Prime 95, and a core fails instantly. With LLC enabled all it fine.

Until i resume from Sleep!

And exactly that same happens as if i disabled LLC. So is it possible that LLC is not being re enabled after i resume from sleep??

Ok, since we don't have the same ram or boards, I'll just test the latest B3 BIOS that I've modified here and test at x46-x48 just to be sure
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xt1wl8l5hciqdsz

Are you using CPU PLL Overvoltage to get your x46 CPU multi?   If so, that is the problem as I don't think they've figured that out yet, on resume this gets disabled and I think it's something they are waiting on Intel to fix.

Ok, you are correct!

I tested at 4.6 using 1.44 BIOS set Vcore, 1.428 idle and 1.416 load, using F4 final BIOS.  Then sleep and resume and idle is 1.402, then 1.34 under Prime95 load, no crashes here but that's probably because I set the vcore pretty high to start out with because I have not played with this CPU/BIOS for a while and never at 4.6 so I wasn't sure what I'd need.

Please send in a report here, and I'll see if I can have them look into it as well

Hi there,
Thanks very much for helping me out and testing this. I already have a support conversation started email ID 1080751.

I have not been using PPL overvoltage.
If i dont use LLC i am unstable at high overclocks. With it enabled, all fine, until i sleep..

Would be great to have this resolved.
Thanks

No problem, I'm always happy to help and test for users when I can!

I sent in an issue report on this tonight asking if the BIOS guys could look into and test on this issue, so I'll keep you posted once I hear back from them.

Ya, I didn't use CPU PLL Overvoltage either, don't need it until about x48 or above CPU multi.   I always use LLC , so my testing was done with LLC enabled.  This can be worked around in the current BIOSes, but you'd have to use a very high and unnecessary Vcore to overcome the large droop under load after a resume, and that's not ideal at all.

I'm sure they can probably fix it, they just will need some time to test and adjust the BIOS most likely.

I'll keep you posted!

OK, have a small update for you kinda.

I've been testing and talking with the guys are Gigabyte on this for the past few days, they are unable to reproduce and I've even sent them images of my BIOS settings where I could, so not sure what the problem is.  They've showed me several test results at various settings before and after resume and everything looks fine.

So hard to narrow down I'd say, and it's not looking to be a BIOS issue...

So they would like to know for now if you've sent in your full system hardware details to the tech support team your speaking with at GTS?

Hi again,
The guy from GTS has requested a full report on the issue, so am in the process of compiling screenshots / list of setting and will hopefully submit all this later tonight. I heard mutterings over on some other forums regarding PSU compatibility, could this be the case? I have an 850W Collermaster. Or more likely a BIOS issue.
Anyways i shall submit all the details and let you know.

Thanks again
