GA-P67A-UD4-B3 rev 1.1 + Corsair XMS3 (CMX6GX3M3C1600C7) cold boot bsods

hello all, i'm newbie here
i need a help with current memory settings on current motherboard, cause after some googling i investigate, that if user has random caused bsods at cold startup, it means something wrong with voltages of the memory.
i built up a pc half-mounth ago and on clean install it seems everything was fine, but afterwhile begun bsods. the memory itself seems ok cuse it gives errors with memtest on cold testing and zero errors after some work. the bsod appears when win7 greetings logo appears (or the first variant - when starting win7 logo merges up at startup dos screen). i have never seen an error which constantly repeats. so the only way
i tried to load and xmp profile, it seems it looks ok and everything fine (or not?) with settings

but it bsods anyway
if i set up 1.64v manually without xmp profile, or any other voltage below it works fine - after second boot but not on cold boot (cold boot means it was turned off a whole night for example and after i return from work and turn it on - bsod)

all drivers are up to date so it's not a big deal in this case
so what i exactly wanted to ask does anybody know whats the problem, is it a custom gigabyte & corsair problem or this beatiful memory (according to newegg feedback) need very sharp tuning for pros hands? maybe it's absolutely incompatible with current mobo? after second boot pc works fine in usual way

rig specs:
Core i7-2600 3.40GHz, 8Mb, 95W, LGA1155

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Firstly you say you ran Memtest and it has problems when cold but once it is warm it runs ok?  If the test fails then the memory is faulty.

I also notice that you are using 3 sticks which are for X58 chipset boards not the newer P67 motherboards so it might be incompatible anyway.
What voltage are you using at the moment?

Try running just one module in  the first slot and see if it runs ok like that.

EDIT: I notice that you are running at 1.5v the memory wont work at those tight timings  etc on that voltage. You will have to increase the volts to the recommended  and I would also loosen off the timings a bit. Try 8-8-8-24 for a start.

thanks for ur reply, i'm very appreciated
yep on cold boot it has errors but according to this thread http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2039083 it doesn't mean the ram module is faulty
OR the memtest is actually useless procedure

i understand that the ram could be designed for x58 chipset but 1. how could i know it and 2. how can i know precisely is it compatible or not? in theory it must to work with any chipset supporting ddr3

the photo with 1.5 v is a start point for discussion - i really don't know what to change. i don't know the recommended volts u saying
the pic with 1.5v is my current config - all others params are by default because xmp profile won't work. so if i sett up auto param for voltage it could work the same way
then what should i choose on last pics and what params are recommended? or where could i read about it cuz the manual doesn't tell about it

edit: it seems according to corsair site my memory is not compatible with GA mobo because it missed here http://www2.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=1872825#other_modules

Well you have already answered your own question there by checking the manufacturers QVL. I knew it was for the X58 boards because it consists of three memory modules, one for each channel. Your chipset only has two channels. If you can swap it for some Corsair Vengeance DDR3 as that is made for the P67 motherboards.

damn.. it's a shame cuz there is not a 6gb kit for p67, and to be honest all vengeance kits look like crap for me..
so there is no way to jazz it up and get it to work without bsods at first startup?

Well it doesn't mean it is impossible to get them to work but just not guaranteed. First try jkust booting with one module in the first slot and see if that works . If it does and is stable you can try adding another in the next slot.

thanks i'll definitely try. but what next? should i change some dram params or leave all by default or auto?
i'm sorry for asking but i really have not any experience related to memory voltages..

Not beiing funny but better not to get ahead of yourself otherwise you start missing things or forgetting. One thing at a time, try the module in slot DDR3_1. If that works then try another in slot DDR3_3. Do not install the third stick.

If the first one still doesn't work then you will need to increase the memory voltage to 1.65v and try again.

after some experiments with memory and after it gave nothing to me the reason of cold bsods on my system was investigated. i have a huge pack of saved pages which people talk about similar with my problem and blame hardware, psu, memory, vendor.. but the cause is very simple. of course it simple for people who know
sptd.sys is a well known cause of blue screens but theres still many people who don't know about it. like me for example. the bsod looks like a faulty memory or mobo and all the time the error code is different so minidumps or event viewer sometimes don't show up the true cause of it. the problem become complicated because of strange instability with nvidia video drivers and intel chipsets. in my case we see the result when my aero disappears (solved by installing new beta drivers) or bsods without any reason. on my previous pc (alienware m17x) i havent any bsod like this cause it has a nvidia chipset and vista os so obviously i really don't know that this could happen
after removing sptd.sys from my system i have a succesfully boot yesterday and today without any issues
it means the memory works fine with my mobo (which corroborated my usual work after first boot bsod)
thank you for your help, the problem has been solved even not being hardware

I am really happy that you found the cause in the end. Some of these things are just so obscure that until you find them they just don't even get thought about.
