GA-P67A-UD5-B3 Disable Hyper-Threading?
« on: April 17, 2011, 10:41:16 pm »
Love my new p76a-ud5/2600k combo. I liek the 2600k a lot and its' Hyperthreading feature, since i do a lot of video encoding. It helps quite a bit.

However, when overclocking, i would prefer to disable the Hyperthread, since it'll give me slightly better OC-ing and reduced temperatures. power consumption, etc..

But i go into my BIOS, and i see no option to turn it off! Am i missing something? It it named something else in the BIOS? Can is be done in Windows 7?

Using F2 BIOS version.

Ah. referred to as"Multi- Threading" in the BIOS.

Had I been more patient, asn a little less stupid in gleaming over teh descriptions, I would've seen that. Well, I'll leave this thread fo the next blindo to ask this.

Thanks, me.

All cores top out at 10c less, by the way. More headroom for overlclocking. Woop.

Hi and glad you found the answer already. I don't know why they sometimes change the way things are worded, maybe it is just their sense of humour! ;) As yopu say it can make a difference if you are going for it. 8)
