          Update

Couldn't resist before the weekend!  Had a wee play doing a simple install as the OS/Boot drive........Not quite performing as I'm sure it will end up!

A couple of things that surprised me were, it indexed in windows at 7.9 but on AS SSD bench was reading @ 635Mb/s  but writing @ only 145Mb/s.....Huh!....and still gave me a 7.9!

Toolbox will not recognise the drive so will not initiate.........my gut tells me I need to flash to 1.33 but the only Tutorial I can find (OCZ forum/support) uses a Big USB drive with Ubunti with the drivers loaded on...........bugger that!........I'm flat out coping with "Wundows".

My intention tonight is to pop in a drive and load revo drivers and Windows to it as a boot and then reformat the revo/format/Flash from windows/rebuild back to Raid0 then bench again.....if it maxes out as it should...........reinstall OS to it and turn it back into a boot drive again........Wuddaya-think!

iirc 7.9 is the highest number you can get on Win7 index. Any idea why the write speed isn't what it should be?

Yes the write speed is always much lower than the read speed but that is incredibly low.  :-\

Yeah swear their write speed in AS SSD was something along the 300mb speed?

Perhaps bios update?

The only thing I did very different was drop the strip size down to 32K just to see what if!  Won't really know until I can get into the toolbox me thinks!

I've got the board throttled back to stock so there's no issues there although truth be told that was /is the first time I've used AS-SSD as well.......is there a better SSD benchmark out there that people like to use and is well recognised?

On most of the revo x2 reviews ive seen AS SSD has been pretty much that shows up on 100% of reviews.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! there's another quick question, ... When I do the flash do I do it once or does each unit (4) need to be flashed ??

I can't say I know either but I would have thought it would only be the once.

AS SSD is the recognised benchmark for SSDs.

Mmmmmmmm! Egg and Marvell chips!.........Nuther question Marster!!......Never though about it till now but the Windows 7-64 install took up a tad over 50GBs ,... does that sound correct........The 100GB Revo formatted down to 93GB to begin with.

Ive used 49gb on my Win7 Pro x64, but about 15gb of that is games + other rubbish. You'll just have to be abit strict what you install!

I love the internet.........Apparently Sanforce and AS SSD don't  get along very well,  Numerous manufactures recommend ATTO!

Have a look now ...and this is with no tweaking , bog stock setting and no firmware update as yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Aussie Allan ;D :o ;D
