Sorry about the foul language  . And I figured out way the *A keyboard was a problem. It had gotten plugged into the usb3 slot, and didn't play nice.
My son uses this box and he has several external drives, and must have plugged the keyboard into that slot. Anyway thanks again for your support!!

Did you have the USB3 enabled in the BIOS at the time ? That could have been the reason for the problem. Anyway at least it is sorted now.

Does and Apple Keyboard USB work on a Gigabyte Board ? I thought they were for the Apple Boards ?

Yes, it's the only kb he's used since building this box last November. He says there are some keys that are only on the A***e. He only uses W7 for one program (Solid Works) because it's PC only. He uses an HP mouse , and it works well on both sides.

Hi,

I have similar (or not?) problem on my new system. When I start computer screen goes black after POST, sometimes later. I can manage to start Windows 7 installation, after loading setup files  screen goes black and monitor is searching for signal. I cannot really check exactly what happens in BIOS as I have only limited time until everything disappear. I have only keyboard and mouse connected to PS/2 ports and monitor to video card. This is the moment where I completely stuck. Do you have any idea guys?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Well at this point it coulkd be practically anything causing the problem. Have you checked for shorts on the back of the motherboard to the chassis ?

If you are using the stock cooler make sure that it is firmly fixed down and connected to the fan power supply header on the motherboard.

I notice that you have 12GB of memory. Is that in 6 modules ?

Have you made sure that all the power cables are connected to the motherboard and GPU ? There should be a 24 pin and an 8 pin near the CPU plus whatever the GPU requires.
