Stupid USB problem with my GA-X58A-UD5

As I needed more USB ports on my GA-EX58-UD5 ( my tower requiert 4 * USB  + card reader with 2 * USB ports + 1 side has taken the floppy drive) I added an adapter with 8 ports NZXT as this :

http://www.docmicro.com/pieces/description.php?numpiece=8677

And yesterday trying to connect a USB 2.5 inch external drive i was surprised to receive an error message from Windows saying the port was working in USB 1 .... not for all the USB ports but with only 2

I have complained about the NZXT adapter (i replace with another without shutdown my computer  ) and same problem

Finally I replace with the old NZXT adapter , i reboot the computer , i make default in the BIOS setup , i reprogam my options (  sata .. ) and everything works again normally after

Strange and mysterious!

Pierre

Aaaaaaaaaaah ! Another night owl like myself, Shmick bit of kit....there's so much out there to play with, limited only by our imagination and  bank manager!....Pierre if you don't mind me steeling your post for two minutes, ....My new Revodrive x2.........After the first initial run (OS on the drive with 600 write and 700 read) I decided to Flash FW to 1.33 from 1.32 and reinstall, I used the pre-configured Linux loader put together over at OCZ and seem to have gone to 1.33 but now every time I set raid0 (23x4) and go to install it drops the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ....only showing 23Gb at the load drivers window and displays (Of course) "Windows cannot load to this drive...........Reboot/back to raid window/ 2nd, 3rd and 4th state "non-system raid"/ reconfigure/reboot/same again ???.......is it possible only the first physical drive of four has excepted the flash....Any idea.

Thanks for the input, thought this earlier, will mean finding 1.32 file and placing in the root directory of loader, nothing like a steep learning curve..........first time I've looked at linux was two days ago....punching code is NOT one of my fort-ayes.....Aussie Allan

Hi Allan

When flashing most drives it is advisable to  run the flash with only one drive connected at a time.

Hi Pierre

I can't understand why that worked as it did either. Just crazy computers for you!
