H67 and VIrtu
« on: May 11, 2011, 07:09:26 am »
Hi

now that Gigabyte has announced their partnership with Lucidlogix will Virtu be coming to the H67 series? All that is mentioned everywhere is the Z68 and Touch Bios. Will Touch Bios be available on the H67?

yours

To be honest I know no more than you at the moment but from what I have read I think it sounds unlikely and will only be on the boards from now on.

Having Touch Bios is not that important to me but i would have liked to have had Lucid Logix Virtu. I have just been reading up on Nvidia's Synergy technology.  Its like virtu but only for nvidia cards and is going to be free for end-users.

Gigabyte want you to buy their Z68 platform, simples  ;D

I don't like it as much as you, same as I can't see fully implemented EFI bios coming our way either but GB are a commercial body out to make money. Having said that, some would say 'Keep existing customers happy as they are more likely return you more business.  I could be completly wrong though  ;)

yes, you are wrong...
As I said virtu cost money and adds to the m/b price. H67 is in customers hands for 4 months already and they didn't pay for virtu so they wont receive it.
And with TouchBIOS you have the best from both worlds - traditional BIOS for those not liking UEFI, and UEFI like GUI for those who like it. Pretty smart move IMO.

Just check out Pirate Bay! ;) No doubt someone will soon have it uploaded. There isn't much that doesn't get shared.

Seriously I would think that nijel is right and it is a matter of not having paid for the use of it unless you purchase one of the new Z68 boards. You will then have a licence to use it in the purchase price structure.
