GA-X58A-UD3R xmp problems

hi all first......
i have a problem i bought motherboard + mem+ cpu about 2 months ago when i instaled everything  and update the bios for my motherboard all looks well but the memory wont boot with the correct settings even though all looks good correct voltage and timings but when i reboot it just crashes and goes into a loop never reaching a post. my memory is CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GT 2000 3*2GIG STICKS ON TRIPPLE CHANNEL. THEY WORK AT DEFAULT SETTINGS 1066MHZ and even 1600mhz i have run memorytest and the memory seems fine passes at the lower speeds but cant post too try other speeds. anyone any ideas or had same problem.

INTEL I7 950
6GIG CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT
CRUCIAL 128 GIG SSD PLUS 2TB OTHER DRIVES

  You didn't mention what voltage you running the memory at, .. at the higher speed  ?

 "Google" the mem manufacturer/ and find out recommended and MAX recommended voltage for your memory! quite often more volts is all that's needed!

the volts is 1.5 to run 1066mhz 1600mhz. tried 1.65v but it wont boot @2000mhz and dont want too give it too much voltage on the lower settings. and in the bios 1.66v is redlining it so to say. dont wanna push it too far.

I'm having the same type of problem, setup is:

GA-X58A-UD3R REV.2
INTEL I7 960
6GIG CORSAIR CMS3 in tri channel
GIGABYTE 9800GT
585W ODIN PSU
SEAGATE 500GB

I left everything std in the bois and from my previous encounter expected to run at 1066, can get it to run at 1600mhz,
however led's on the board tells me that the ram and cpu are being over clocked and more voltage.

My previous encounter had xmp(bios) on profile 1 on, system crashes/ blue screen comes up and then eventually pc did not even boot up. I
went back to suppliers and thought it could be my psu and eventually it was the ram which initially we all thought it was. (pre ram 4gig xms)

Is there a stable/non-overclocking way to get the ram to run at its standard frequency?
If I try another board will I get that frequency(1600mhz) without overclocking?

The problem is you have RAM that is way outside of the normal specs and whilst it probably is possible to reach those speeds it is not going to be easy. As Allan has alread said you will need to up the voltage quite considerably which can give you all sorts of other problems. I am not surprised that the XMP won't work as you need to input the settings and voltage manually to tweak something like that. You will only really benefit from fast memory like that if you are overclocking above 5Ghz.

i have managed to run the cpu @ 3.6ghz and the memory 1867mhz without or with very little voltage change but the temp reached around the 70c mark and thats with a thermaltake armor lcs case . and when i think about it it ran ok but i down clocked it to be safe.. i have put the cpu and memory back too these settings and it booted ok and im using too send this reply. think il gve it a good burn in test over the next couple of hours and a game or 2 just too see.

Sounds like a sensible idea to me. Too often people try and overclock the sh1t out of their systems before they have given them a good burn in.
