.......Gotit!...Seriously though..... had one for a couple of years now ...really handy for El-chepo backup and cloning, onto 2.5 or 3.5.

 In fact you don't even need the power supply if you connect two USBs to them

A new acquisition for old board without PCI-e !!

I test at this time ...

I can use Marvell 88SE9128 , Marvell 88SE6145 , Marvell 7042 , Silicon Image SIL3132 , JMicron JMB363 , HghPoint RR622
 but AsRock SATA6 is not detected !!


1 - Run with ASUS A7A266A-E

2 - Run with ASUS K8N but with only old S3 PCI Graphics card ( with AGP card i have PCI conflict )

3 - Run also with ECS ELiteGroup K7S5a

->> i edit this post and i add others motherboards or modifications or problems

4 - Run with ASUS A7N8X-XE ( possible conflict but i use slot 2 with 1GBits Network card and card in slot 4 and that is ok at this time )

5 - Not run with GigaByte GA-7ZM  --> Bios detect add-on card , i see by exemple Marvell ... but  stop to Checking NVRAM

6 - Run with ASRock K7S41GX but i cannot boot with a disk connected to the Marvell card ( i can read/write disks )

found trouble with the dual USB / IDE / sata Docking ..

When i power up , i have only one USB disk

When i plug the esata cable , i have the sata disk OK

When i unplug the eSata cable i have the 2 * IDE & SATA disks --> YES the TWO DISKS

Finally i have found , documentation is not explicit !!

Push the red button in same time as i power on and miracle the 2 * disks are discovered !!

Bad doc , bad doc , bad doc and doc is write also with microscopic characters !!

Hi Pierre,

It is really annoying when manufacturers make a good product but fall fatally short when it comes to decent documentation. I just reviewed an Alphacool Heatmaster that was the same. Good bit of kit once you could discover how to install it.
