GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 problem
« on: May 19, 2011, 03:22:32 am »
hi im running

GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.1)

stock 2500K + CM Hyper 212 plus

sapphire 6850

700W 80 plus psu

and my ram is

F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL  (4x2)
on
win7 64bit...

latest bios mem settings at default

fresh install, and im getting lots of BSOD errors (atikmpag.sys + 0x00000116) they are ati @amd driver related ( only using the display driver) im wondering if it has anything to do with the ddr3 ram since is not officially supported. maybe just a DOA card? any suggestions? the pc works fine 1) without the display drivers 2) with the om-board intel gpu 3) with a 8600gt ( yes i cleaned the drivers)

btw added a dump file

thanks

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

Are you just using the "Auto" settings in the BIOS for the RAM ?

Have you tried removing two of the memory sticks and just leave DDR3_1 and DDR3_3 installed ?

Have you run Memtest86+ to check all the modules for errors ? If not try this:

Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.

If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

Intel are having some problems with the HD graphics drivers.

I'm using a similar board with multiple displays (but with nvidia pci-e) and found that they have released some drivers that address a specific issue. (note: this may not have anything to do with your ATI driver problem but it's worth a try).

These drivers are working okay for me:

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver 64 bit v15.21.8.64.2279

I found out about this problem on the Intel.com web boards.

Post back when you get the card with the results please. Usually the AMD cards are more stable than the nVidia ones.

What was the reason to go with such weird choice of hardware configuration?
Locked chipset with unlocked CPU...
Chipset able to use Integrated Graphics in the CPU + discrete Video Card...
It doesn't make any sense at all?!?!?

irrelevant to the subject... but i had to buy everything in one place, ( dont ask)  and that  was the only motherboard available at the time  ( also it was waay overpriced. i could have gotten  the asus P8p67-m pro cheaper)

anyway nice contribution  ::)
