ga-p67a-ud4-b3 network issues

A little while ago my network cut off. I traced the issue to the motherboard. The nice chip which is indicated by the manual is very hot. Is that normal? How can I fix it without rma? It would suck to be without a Pc all the time it takes to rma. Is it safe. To use the of with this issue? Can I kill another component? Like CPU, gpu or memory?

have u try update to latest driver from realtek?

latest version Driver :Win7     ver: 7045_05/20/2011

  Realtek driver , for some reason can affect things more then any other driver (for me) unless update reasonably regularly ....a bit of cooling would not hurt.....passive or otherwise.

Nic is dead. No way for me to fix. Just waiting on rma now. This blows chunks. This was my first gigabyte mobo. How this is not the norm with this brand. I was an avid Abit fanboy. Hope that gigabyte can prove a worthy replacement for my needs. Thanks for the help.

 Poop happen!...........At least you have Gigabyte handling the RMA........there service and support is on par with Canon from  where I'm sitting...........keep us informed how things turn out!

Yes just an unlucky circumstance there I think. All manufacturers have their share of boards that go wrong usually due to faulty components. As long as the RMA is handled well it needn't be a major problem.
