Allan,
I have never used Registry Mechanic 2011, so I cannot comment on it [but I do have a friend who swears by it]!
It is number 5 on the top ten list in the USA for registry cleaners...
I have been using IOLO's System Mechanic now for about 3 years and I have been very, very pleased with it.
I have noticed remarkable speed up of every system I have ever installed it on, so that says a lot. Need I say more?
The System Analysis feature keeps my computer maintained by locating problems that are compromising the health and security of my system, such as registry errors and security vulnerabilities.
The PC Health Status Gadget provides a real-time status of my system’s health and allows me to correct any problems it finds without requiring me to open System Mechanic.
ActiveCare schedules the scans that System Mechanic performs when I'm away from my computer.
With these PC system utilities features, I don’t have to guess what’s wrong with my system.
I did notice this software finds and corrects nearly 20-30 registry issues a month on my system.
[I was terribly nervous when I first tried this software because I know one bad mistake in the registry can mess up my entire system]! The good news is this software has never created a problem on any of the computers I have used it on...and again, that says an awful lot about its trustworthiness...
For security purposes, it also has Department of Defense 5220-22M compliant technique for maximum security when deleting files.
I also like the military-standard drive scrubbing for when I sell used computers.
This software also defrags and backs up the registry.
I just received a copy of Tune Up Utilities...I have never used it before, but they say it is the number one selling Utility in Europe....hmmmm....how interesting!
Ok, since most of you dear gentlemen are from Europe....any advice on this Tune Up Utilities?
Here in the USA, the top 5 System Utilities Softwares are, in order:
Advanced System Optomizer
System Mechanic
MAGIX
Tune Up
System Suite
I am totally satified and happy with the success of IOLO's System Mechanic for years now...but, I always like to try new software. Anyone try Europe's number one selling Tune Up yet?
Soar
PS And no, I do not own any stock in IOLO's company...but maybe I should!
PSS I also use CC Cleaner but it misses a lot!
