Need help with finding/installing driver for USB contoller on P67A-ud3-b3

Hi all!

Ok, after leaving my new build turned off for a couple of months, I just attempted to install a storage drive [2tb].  System cannot find it.

I noticed in device manager that there is the yellow exclamation mark under USB controller and a question mark under other devices.

I did go to Gigabyte's site and download the Intel drivers...could not find how to install one of those drivers....not sure what else to do...

Can someone help me resolve this please?

Also, strange restarts...not sure why...it never did this before.

I did begin to install the new Windows 7 updates....not sure if that had something to do with this....

Hi Soar,

Funny but these things are sent to try us. I think that a clear of the CMOS would be  a good start.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

But, before I try that, what is the PCI bus 3 and where can I find the drivers for this USB controller?

A little more information might be a help.

The device you were trying to install was it a USB drive ?

Was it on a USB2 or USB3 port ?

Have you tried removing the drive from the case and see if it runs ok directly ?

The device was a Samsumg 2TB internal HDD.  It is working now.  My bad....and please do not laugh to loud...I forgot to plug in the modular power cord into the PSU. 

But the USB controller located at PCI bus 3 still has the !!! and tells me driver for that device is not installed.

Oh, after installing all of Windows updates [including service pack 1], the reboot issue ceased to exist.

OK, good news there at least in the main.  What the USB issue is I can't say. Often it will be one attached to another device so see if your keyboard, monitor etc has one that needs a seperate driver for.

Oh...perhaps it is the wireless keyboard/mouse combo...I never installed the drivers....

I'll look for em'.
