GA-PH67A-D3-B3, PCI Card boot problem
« on: June 09, 2011, 07:15:02 pm »
Hi all,

i've an prob. after installing an 5 v PCI card in my board.
It starts up, but before i can take a look at the boot screen it will switch off an power on again.
This will go on and on, till i remove the Pci Card, then it will start normaly.

Is the PCI slot only for 3V Cards ?.

My Power Supply is an 560 W type , so it schould hande this think.
The PCI Card will work in an other system without any Problems.

Please help

Markus

  Mc_Eddy

My understanding is 3.3V and 5V with an absolute Maximum of 5.3V

You have made it pretty hard by not posting any details re the card in question, this would make it far easier to asses the compatibility of the PCI card with this board.

I / we can't even begin to help you with the information supplied.

1- you have 2 * PCI slots , is the same problem with the 2 slots ?

2 - are you sure that  your card is always good ( tested in another computer ) ?

Hi,
yes problem exists in both slots,

card is 100 % OK iv'e checked it in 2 Older PC's with C2D CPU

p.s. seems to be an old PCI 2.0 Card 33 MHz ,
can i adjust the PCI Clock in Bios ?

One further funky problem is ,
when i put an Moxa CP132 RS422 PCI Card in one Slot,
and put the Video Grabber Card in the Other PCI Port,
the System will boot but wont find the right Hardware for the Video Grabber Card.

so i think it is  an Problem with the Supply Voltage but i cant understand this because 2 Cards will Boot
but one Card (the Grabber Card) alone Won't.

The Moxa -CP132 Card alone Pluged work Correct in Both Slots.

OK

A solution is to contact Artek for a possible hardware modification for the PCI incompatibility

For power supply you can compare / measure with old and new motherboard

* Possible use this adapter low cost  ( your Motherbaords has PCI-e slots ) :
