GA-z68-ud4 intel HD graphics

I cannot seem to get the on board graphics to work with my AMD 6950 with windows 7 64bit.

I get this message in Device Manager :

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

I would like to try and fix this to get Virtu to work.

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Have you got the 6950 installed in the correct slot the PCIEx16_1 ?

Have you got both power cables connected to it ?

Have you got the power cables connected to the motherboard, the 24 pin and the 8 pin ?

Is the card listed as Primary Display Device in the BIOS ?

Can you list your hardware please by make/model ?

Thanks

  I have:
GA-Z68XP-UD4
Kingston HyperX 8gb 1600 DDR3
XFX HD-695x-ZNFC Radeon HD 6950
OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120  SSD
Western Digital 250 GB Hard Drive SATA II
Hitachi 500 GB Hard Drive SATA II

I have tried setting up the on board as primary and connecting my monitor through the motherboards hdmi
I have tried setting up the Radeon as primary and connecting my monitor through the radeon hdmi
Both results are the same
Right now I have the monitor connected to the Radeon and BIOS set to PCI

I do have an old install of windows 7 64 bit right now.  Once my new hard drive and optical get here this afternoon I will reinstall windows on the SSD.

Well you are not going to get anything working properly with an old installation of Windows with a load of new hardware. Also please post what monitor you are using. I would suggest clearing the CMOS and then start with a clean install of your OS. Please follow these instructions exactly:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.
