GA-990fxa-ud7 issues
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:58:52 am »
Guys

I have a new 990fxa board, the first was rma'd due to problems so I'm taking a lot of care with the new one and looking at all the things I can to ensure this is not from a bad batch. My machine is fairly green and has a 1100t, has Win7 pro so nothing special.

My issues are with the readings from AOD (AMD Overdrive) and almost every other CPUZ type thing I could find, and it's with my -12V and in AOD the VDD25 reading.

My -12V as reported shows varying values ranging from -5 to -20, the supply an oldish thermaltake truepower 1kW supply has a -12V rail of -12.4v with an odd 1 cycle pulse every 20ms or so lasting around 200-300us of 184 mv (yes had the cro on it),

The other issue is the VDD25 reported in AOD always has -5.120 instead of 2.5V.

AOD also reports 12 dec C higher temp than every other tool including "sensors" under linux and while I think that is more representative of the temp in idle, with prime 95 I have had to install a "Coolermaster V8" just to keep the thing under 60C from AOD's perspective.

I suppose the questions are is AOD a useful measuring tool, and does anyone else see this kind of behavior?

Do the various cpuz/HWMonitor type tools interfere with each other?

-12 volts is not used for anything on current PC's, so it is irrevelevant.
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

Pretty picture Lordred, but it doesn't explain anything one way or the other. It simply shows what the pin 14 connection is. ;)
