GA-X58A-UD3R with usb 3.0 problems, dropouts an transfer freezing.

As overclockers.com described in his 11/30/2009 usb 3.0 review:

“SSUSB bug”
After getting the device properly connected and recognized by the OS, I would begin my testing. What I found was large drops in performance accompanied by an audible click and the sound of the drive spinning down, as if the drive lost power. This drive would immediately regain power and continue the test, but the results would suffer.

I spoke with Gigabyte, and they said they had not experienced any similar problems. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, but I get the impression it may just be an NEC SSUSB and/or Intel P55 driver issue that needs to be worked out. Time will tell, and if I find a reliable solution, I will update this article.

I think is not an isolated incident. I'm suffering the same problems with my GA-X58A-UD3R mobo. I have updated bios to F7, nec usb 3.0 chip firmware (found here http://www.station-drivers.com/page/nec.htm) and usb 3.0 windows drivers (found in the same web page) and still with problems.

USB 3.0 is activated in bios.
Dock works well in usb 2.0 ports.
Freezing and dropouts varies in frecuency and order depending in what HDD is inserted.

¿what can i do?

thanks a lot.

The only thing I can put my finger on at the moment is the NEC drivers can be temperamental when updating....... All instances of the old driver must be removed including a re boot prior to the final install, turn off virus software during the final install (disconnect internet) then boot back to windows and see if there's a change
