Having a total nightmare GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
« on: July 25, 2011, 05:59:23 pm »
Just finished my new build today  including a new 570 + 2500k

Every time I start my PC I get this type of pattern displaying on my screen, pressing tab or delete to enter the bios causes it to just freeze.

I have tried taking the graphics card out and using the onboard graphics and all it does it causexact same problem :( - Took the card fully out

es the image to look like this

Have tried using a different HDMI cable and still no luck ! have tried different Ram as well

Any ideas what I can do ? could the CPU be faulty or wouldnt it even boot with a faulty CPU ?

Stressed and havent got a clue what to do and been playing for 2 days !

Please help :)

Hi

Yes it could possibly be a faulty CPU because depending on the problem it could still boot. I would try doing an extended clear of the CMOS next though. Please follow these instructions exactly:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Hi thanks for your advice :)

I have tried that and it doesnt work. It looks like a faulty motherboard or CPU. Is there any way I can find out which ?
