It seems that no one knows correctly what to do. So if someone who is able to do it could make me a f14 please with ahci and raid updated. That would be very appreciated

Well I got two new Hdds of 3 TB here. Will the Intel AHCI or RAID (1.07 from 2006 by AHCI and 7.50.1071 by RAID) be ready for these drives or will I get an error when I come over 2 TB?

Hi there again,

afte rI put the new 3 TB drive on the controller it is only recognized as around 700GB drive. In Win7 it is at full 3TB. Do I have to do anything about this?

Windows will not recognize partition above 1.999999999TB (2 TB) for this reason drives must be formatted in the GPT file format...... if 2, 2.5 or 3TB and above drives are to be used.......GPT file format must be used .......or break the drive in several partitions under 2 TB to utilize the NTFS file format 8)

Unless I have misunderstood the problem you need to have the EFI BIOS installed and enabled before formatting the drive as GPT instead of NTFS.

Here are the instructions to enable the EFI in the BIOS.

1. Go to Advanced BIOS Features.

2. Go to CD/DVD Boot Option.

3. Set the BIOS up to “EFI” option.

4. Save and exit BIOS.

Depending on what OS you are running as whether you will have boot support for GPT. Basically you must be runing a 64 bit version of XP, Vista or 7.
