You should have no problems, ... main reason!..... you have a total of 4 SataIII port to choose from on this board ,... two controlled by Intel and two by Marvell.
I think this was a smart move by Gigabyte implementing 2 different sata3 controllers on the one board, .... with the ....shall we say "Glitch" we had with the X58 boards carrying the 9128 Marvell chip and it's lack luster performance.
While next gen Marvell controller chip implemented into the Z68 board........ has apparently , Ironed out the problems of past with near advertised performance being achieved in regards to sata3 performance ...... Intel's step into the sata3 arena was less problematic then Marvell's, with reports of comparable numbers , up to marginally exceeding the other ports in performance.......... .........expect performance to improve with firmware/Bios updates in the coming months
Intel's ICH/8/9/10 series seem to be going from strength to strength,..... with close to ten years of experience under their belts....going off there past performance and improvements through driver updates........I think we won't be disappointed in the next quarter or two, ......I only hope Marvell can keep pace and not disappoint ,......they need to build on there present win.
