GA-990FXA-UD3 vdroop or not?

GA-990FXA-UD3 vdroop or not?
« on: July 23, 2011, 08:21:36 am »
Just had this board a few days.
Put my Phenom II X2 560BE in it and left bios settings to auto.
CPU volts show as 1.340v no load, drops to 1.322v under load.
Upped the cpu volts to 1.375v, no load stays at 1.375, drops to 1.360 under load.
Is this vdroop or normal?
Also in bios the ram volts are set to 1.500(1.5v)correct volts for the ram installed but anywhere else it shows as 1.45v.
Board came with F2 bios.
Is there another bios version for this board? ???

Hi there,

the CPU voltage difference between idle and when under load is about right and is similar to that experienced on the GA-990FXA-UD5 and GA-990FXA-UD7 boards and is actually part of the LLC design.

If you PM with your e-mail address I can forward the F3a BETA BIOS for you to try but the VDroop will still be there to some extent.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Hey there absic, I'm new on GB forums so I don't know the rules yet, (I'll have to read them) but can you send me a F3b BIOS for GA-990FXA-UD3 please?

Thanks.

----------------------------------------Hi,
I was sent the F3a(beta)bios by Absic but it gave a bios ID error when I tried to flash the bios.
I ended up asking Gigabyte for it.
They emailed it to me and I had no problem flashing the bios.
I do not know what they changed in the bios but I cannot see anything new or taken away.
The vdroop is by design for these boards as is vboost.
The f3a bios does not cure it.
