Hi there,

on this board you are stuck with DDR2 RAM upto a maximum speed of 1200MHz but that speed is dependant on your choice of CPU. well i dont want to have 2 spare memory slots thats going to be unusable, so i think i will buy another 4 gig of DDR2 to fill up the 4 memory slots running at 1066  that will give am a total of 8 GIGS of memeory and look for a X6 core AMD + CPU, a increase of 50% CPU power is not that bad, any suggestions on what would be the best model AMD 6 core CPU ?

 The AMD Phenom II 1090T is good, see here - http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3003. I suppose it depends on how much you want to spend on a 6 core CPU. The BIOS is F7C but ask Absic to confirm this.

wow i just read the reviews on the AMD Phenom II 1090T, look like i am going to be saving up for that baby, with an 100% increase of RAM and a 50% increase in CPU power  i should be go to go for a few more years, thanks everyone.

1090T is an awesome CPU and you can't go wrong with it! The best part is that is relatively quite cheap for its power. Its threshold is 75°C which is more than X4 but it does need some better cpu cooler.
As I noticed you wont lose much when combined with ddr2 instead ddr3 but you can always buy am3+ MB in a year or so when they become cheaper and still use your 1090T but with ddr3 and when BD becomes cheaper you can switch easily and did I say cheap?!

well currently i have the  http://www.zalman.com/eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=164  CPU cooler on my  AMD X4 940 which i have gotten to 3.5 with no problem, i am sure that CPU would work with my new AMD  X6  CPU, since i  have not researach any CPU coolers in some time, is there any other suggestions on CPU coolers, i was looking at the http://www.corsair.com/cooling/hydro-series/hydro-series-h80-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler.html any feed back would be welcomed.

I don't know much about water cooling but I hear that Corsair H50 isn't bad at all. They say that its almost the same as H70, but unfortunately I have nothing to say for H80

As for air cooling, you can't go wrong with some Noctua NH-D14 cooler http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=34&lng=en
It is probably the most expensive and it's massive but it has the best cooling...

You try your Zalman and monitor your temperatures and if it isn't enough then search for another cooling solution. Try some test or game and you'll easily see if Zalman is enough

I've been using the Noctua NH-D14 for some time and although it is big it is also  the best air cooler I have ever come across. If space is an issue then there are other versions that are smaller and also top down which are also very capable options.

The Corsair Hydro Series are also very good products and offer a compromise between Air and fully water cooled systems. There have been a couple of instances, that I am awrae of, where the connecting pipes on teh actual heatsink, have developed a leak but this could be due to the way they were installed rather than a fault. This problem can be avoided by adding a couple of small jubillee clips if desired.

Also just in case you are interested but feel that the H70 isn't big enough for you Corsair has just brouhgt out the H100 which is pretty much the same but with a dual radiator for the more powerful systems.
