Today I turned on my computer to find that the system would not go to BIOS. I have never had any problems with any of the components, and the computer's only seen about 6 months of use.
From what I can tell, all of the computer's LEDs and fans work except for the CPU fan, the PULSE_LEDs turn on -- 2 greens, 1 yellow, 1 red, and USB bus power still works from both sides of the motherboard (front and back), and disk drives turn on and off. But USB devices won't talk to the computer (e.g., the caps lock on my keyboard doesn't light, which leads me to think it hasn't been really connected to anything), and there is no signal going out to the monitor. I haven't activated the motherboard's speaker mechanism (and I don't think there's a way for me to do it), so it doesn't make any sounds indicating anything. Am I looking at a fried motherboard? There is no evidence of busted capacitors or anything. Is there anything else I can do, short of swapping out components (though I have taken out, for example, the RAM to see what would happen).
I've let the computer sit for a while, I've reset CMOS, and I've removed the motherboard battery per this forum's instructions.
My hardware: Intel i7 860, cooler master hyper 212+ cpu cooler, Intel SSD boot drive 80GB, two seagate 1TB drives, ATI GPU PCI-e, M-Audio audiophile sound card PCI, 4 x 2GB g.skill DDR3 Ram 1600, OCZ modxstream 700W PSU, antec 900 case
I would sincerely appreciate any input on this and will be on hand to give any more information that is necessary.
