GA-970A-D3 crossfire setup

Hi I am building a Crossfire setup and i currently have these specs

MOBO: GA-970A-D3
CPU: athlon X4 640 3.0ghz
PSU: 550w
Graphics card: HD5750
Ram: 1600mhz A-RAM 4gb
HDD: X2 1TB WD

And i Was wondering if i add another 5750 to crossfire can my powersupply handle it and does the MOBO handle it?

Hi

I would advise upgrading the PSU to a slightly bigger and good quality make and model. Never buy a cheap and nasty power supply they can go wrong and take out all you other expensive components at the same time. Not only that just because it is marked 600W or whatever often they are nowhere near that rating. Purchase a good make like Seasonic, CWT, Corsair, Thermaltake, Enermax, Gigabyte, Coolermaster, Antec, etc and try and get one with a single 12V rail if possible. I would advise you to get one of about 650W minimum depending on your hardware demands and upgrade intentions.

To be honest it is not one of the makes that I am familiar with but from reading up on the specs etc it doesn't sound too bad. I have seen much better though. If you really can't afford or obtain a better make and model then I guess it would do but I am not in favour of cost cutting on PSUs.

yeah i think ill just get a cooler master 700w its only 60 dollars more
