never in my entire life as a tech have I had so much trouble trying to update a bios!
here is a run down of all the stupidity

#1 @bios= fail... updating from server creates a c++ runtime error halfway through. Updating from file returns a bad bios image window.Yes I have the latest @ BIOS

#2 qflash = fail... how in gods name are you supposed to fit a 2MB file on a floppy which is the only thing qflash wants to read

#3 flashspi = fail... returns bad bios image

I'm trying to update to bios FH3 from FA

Hi and welcome.

Sounds like you are getting the runaround there.

The best way to update the BIOS is usually using QFlash as long as the BIOS files are the same size. If you are updating it from a smaller to a larger one then either FLASHSPI or @BIOS will have to be used.

You don't need to use a floppy a USB pendrive will do fine. If you have problems getting the system to read one try a fairly small one about 2GB or below is usually best and make sure that Legacy USB Storage and Legacy USB Devices are enabled in the BIOS first.

Well I am glad to hear that you managed to get there in the end however you did it. I can't really see why hyperthreading would need disabling to accomplish it though! :-\

I know it's retarded. But I was reading the @BIOS usage page and it clearly states to disable hyperthreading and do  a couple other things. Thanks for your help Mantis
