Overclocking Z68X UD3P B3 2600k
« on: September 17, 2011, 07:51:23 pm »
Hi guys, i need advice, if you can you tell me the settings(in BIOS) for 4.3Ghz- 4.4, on my mobo?
I run Prime 95 on def.voltage, 3.4Ghz, and i see the vdroop is, 1.164.. idle 1.212, is that ok? I know that is known to GB vdroop..
Is it true that I can with def.voltage "raise" the CPU to 4-4.2Ghz?
Sry for bad english
Tnx for help

Hi and welcome.

You should be able to get the overclock that you are after, or somewhere near it, simply by using the multiplier. You shouldn't even need to increase the voltage.

I would suggest reading our section on Overclocking, watercooling etc.

Please, i need a litle help in this post.
I have de same mother board and same processor 2600k, 1600 vegeance memory ram.
Well,

What is better, change cpu clock ratio or turbo ratio core in overclock?

I put 47 x in cpu clock ratio and change the v core to 1.345 and the desktop is running well...

But if i change in the turbo ratio core 1 -47, 2 -47 ,3 -47and four turbo ratio core to 47, i cant load windows.

other question my mother board support memory ram up to 1600mhz, but i cand run the windows, when i change it.

Thanks

Hi

How much memory have you got installed and what settings have you used for the memory ?

What voltage are you using ?

Are all the modules part of a complete kit or seperates?

Have you got HPET set to the right setting ?

And about the overclock using only the cpu clok at 47, is it ok? Or the best way is change the multiplier (turbo ratio core) ?

I am at a loss to understand why you are using three memory modules on a Dual Channel motherboard. Is there any specific reason for this ?

I take it then that you purchased these sticks as seperates not a matched kit ?

You will probably need to enter all the settings manually as you have more than two modules installed. You will probably also have to increase the voltage a little.

I am not sure that I understand your last question but usually the way to oc these processors is by upping the multiplier. Depending on how high you want to try and go you will need to disable some of the other BIOS options like Turbo, EIST, C1E, C3 etc.

Sorry, youre right... I purchase it for sugestion of salesman :

Memory ddr3 12gb - 3x4gb- 1600mhz -vengeance cmz12gx3m3a1600c9 -Corsair
9-9-9-24-2t  1,5 volts
Intel xmp 1.2
What u think about it?

Well, about my last question:

Im runing on 4.7 ghz (2600k), and just changed the clock ratio and the core voltage, the system is good.I know all people , change only the multiplier, but when i try it, get a error , and the OS dont work. Thanks for your time but im learning a lot with u, its my first OC.

I expect that your problem is that you are trying to jump to a big overclock without doing it in stages as you should do to see how stable it is as you go. Try 4.3 first and see if everything is ok there. If it passes all the tests then you can move a bit further up and test again.

The memory modules are fine but I suspect that you were just sold three seperate sticks not a "matched kit" and as such they might not be stable together.

Either way you will need to get your memory working and stable before you start to overclock at all. Probably you will need to put in the settings and voltage manually rather than use the auto settings in the BIOS.
