I would say the temperatures are a little on the high side for idle rates. Have you got plenty of case cooling ?

My case has a radiator with 3x 120mm fan , placed in the fornt door and I always leave it open, so no hot air gets into the case.

Beside that there are :
- 1x 120mm front fan
- 1x 120mm rear fan
- 1x  80 mm rear fan
- 1x  80 mm top fan

Also the psu sucks air from the case.

Case temp is around 28-34 C.

After 2 days of waiting a new CPU i2600k arrived today.

Any advice on starting again with oc ?

  The best advise I can give you or anyone wanting to get the best out of a given system..... is establish a stock setting base-line

  everything set to standard/auto ..... record everything you can .....idle and load! .... temps, benchmarks, the lot.

 this will give you valuable data to work from..... and let you know if your present cooling system is up to the challenge.

Today I placed the new CPU.
Over these couple of days I placed a 25cm sidefan in the case door.

I A couple of years ago Thermaltake sold replacement doors with a 25cm fan fopr extra case cooling.
It now look the same as the TT version.

Temp results without manually oc :
CPU temp idle 28C instead of 33.
CPU package temp idle 34C instead of 38C
Case temp 24 C instead of 28.  


Just did a test at 4.8 Ghz with FSX.
Everything is running perfectly.
Vcore is 1.4 ( 1.39 was just to little when setting the memory to it's default 2133 instead of 1866 ).

Way better than before.


Btw : why is cpu package temp higher than the highest core temp ?
