Hi and welcome.

I am not 100% sure but I suspect that it isn't of the reference design as most of Gigabytes cards are not especially since the initial launch. I have the same problem apart from I am after a 6970 reference designed card to match my original to crossfire under water. You could try asking GGTS but I wouldn't hold out much hope I'm afraid.

Update on what (GGTS) had to say about the layout.

Answer: (We do not suggest you change the cooler of your graphics card by yourself. This will cause your warranty invalid. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

Not much help did not answer question about the card layout.

I'm afraid that is the sort of answer that is usually given by card manufacturers and it isn't much help to the likes of us. I just received the similar response to my question to Sapphire of a similar nature. It is most annoying but I suppose that we can always vote with our wallets next time!

The only company that I am aware of that offers mod friendly warranties for their cards is EVGA. And even there you have to be careful about the card you buy I think. Also you pay a lot more to get this warranty. Otherwise ANY other manufacturer is just going to tell you NOT to mod the card. IF you want to water cool it you will have to live with voiding the warranty. Anyone who water cools basically ends up voiding the warranty on all the parts they cool!

Yes that has always been the way it is I'm afraid. Voiding the warranty on the part is one thing but they don't have to be downright obstructive as a lot of manufacturers are.

If you truly want an answer to your original question there is several web based services that can help to varying degrees.....candccentral.......specialtech...........aquatuning...to  name the most commendable know ones

Aquatuning has a excellent data base for reference as well as non-reference water blocks but is not fool-proof .... I know.......... Enzo 73 and 78 mosfet water blocks are ruled "Not Compatible" on my X58-UD3R but one fitted a treat and the other need a tweak of a mod to fit......they have even drawing plans on about half of the blocks so you can make up your own mind ( small mod or not)

  Hope this helps.....Aussie Allan

Yes agreed. You will find Mick at CandCCentral extremely helpful but if you phone him be sure to make sure that you haven't got anything on in the next couple of hours!!

Aquatuning has a really extensive stock range as Allan said and if it doesn't show up there it probably can't be found.

I think that you will however be asking a bit much if you expect to find a definitive answer to your original question at any of these sites though as the normal response is to point you in the direction of the manufacturer of the card.
