GA-Z68X-UD4-B3, Comp Shuts Down on 1000 Report Rate, Logitech G5 Mouse

Model: GA-Z68X-UD4-B3
BIOS: F8
Mouse: Logitech G5 w/ Setpoint 6.30 (latest)

Rest of specs
CPU: Intel I5 2500k
RAM: 16GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3 1866
Video Card: AMD Raedon HD Sapphire 5850
Sound Card: Creative X-FI Xtreme Music (PCI)
PSU: Seasonic X750

Like the title says, if I set my Logitech G5 mouse to use 1000 report rate (reports per second) my comp will randomly power off.  If I set it back to 500 everything works fine.  I am using the USB 2.0 ports.  Nothing is overclocked.  Has anyone seen anything like this?  Can anyone with the same setup duplicate?

     Welcome  Despoiler

I'm not even going to go where a 1000 is required over 500 ::) .......but it would be nice to know  ::)

But we'll have a crack at it regardless

Have you tried several different ports ? ....... Update USB2 driver ? ....... Re-install USB2 drivers to rule out corrupt drivers ?.......

disable USB mass storage in BIOS ....... try the mouse in another machine with the 1000 SPS (samples per second)  setting.

I'll get back to you on the driver versions.  I'm pretty positive it's all of the latest since this is a new build.  My previous machine did just fine with the same mouse and settings.  I did try new ports.
