Gigabyte Netherlands answered me they understood the problem.
They reported it and let me know when there is a new bios version available which solves these issue's.

And now we wait...

I got an answer from Gigabyte.
The issue is clear and it is reported into the proper Gigabyte channels.
They will let it know if there is a bios update available which solves these issues.

A problem I am having with F8 is when I try to install games to the system (or anything really) I get CRC errors. These errors happen with BIOS F8, and F9c I have not tried F7 but everything runs fine in BIOS F5. Any one else having these CRC errors when using newer BIOS then F5?

I have tried swapping SATA cables, Drives, RAM, HDD's and nothing makes a difference unless I go back to BIOS F5. I even RMAed the motherboard because I thought it was bad just to find out that the new one does the same thing so It has to be BIOS related. Any ideas?

Here is my system.....

From my experience CRC errors only happen when your harddrive is about to die, what harddrive are you trying to install to?

What you can do to check your harddrives for errors is to run chkdsk from the command prompt, it will show you if there are any errors and try to correct them.

Its not a problem with the hard drive. I have tried 3 different working drives and 2 sets of ram. I have swapped out DVD drives and even changed the SATA cables. The issue is not present with BIOS F5 but if I upgrade to BIOS F8 or F9c I get CRC errors on everything I try to install. Like I said I even RMAed the motherboard because I thought it was a bad memory controller but the new board does the same thing when the BIOS is upgraded. So it has to be a bug or issue with the BIOS.

The board would work with BIOS F8 if I ran 8 gigs or DDR3 1066 but anything 1600 or higher I would get the CRC errors with my setup.

From what you have said there it sounds like it might be a completely different fault. If it only happens when you put a heavy load on the memory controller then you probably need to increase the voltage a touch and may be even the QPI/Vtt a little to keep in level with it.

What is the default voltage of your modules ?

What is your QPI/Vtt set to at the moment ?

I tried upping the voltage of the Ram but it didn't do any good. right now I am back running F5 BIOS and am having no issues. The CRC errors only happen when I upgrade the BIOS.

My ram is rated to run @ 1.5

You could try increasing the memory voltage to 1.60v even and make sure that the QPI/Vtt is at least 1.1 v minimum. I would be inclined to try it at 1.2v - 1.3v for the QPI/Vtt and the RAM voltage up in stages to as far as 1.63v but if no joy then revert to default settings. You must maintain a 0.5v maximum differential between the VDRAM and the QPI/Vtt.
