X58A-UD3R Audio problem

Hi, having audio speaker problems since disconnecting and reconnecting stereo speaker system to rear 3.5 jack.

Troubleshooting undertaken so far:
-Windows audio troubleshooter multiple times: detected no issues
-disconnected and reconnected device multiple times. Windows sees device plugged in but no sound.
-Tested speakers on another computer, works perfectly.
-made speakers default playback device
-disconnected usb headset
-tried rear and front audio jacks. Again, device is detected, but no playback audible.
-made other audio settings adjustments, no diffence, restored to default.
-Audio through usb headset works fine

Settings have not been changed since speakers were disconnected for a day.
Speaker properties:
-Speakers detected as: realtek HD Audio Default Device
Controller info Realtek HD Audio>Properties>This device is working properly
-Driver check- You have the latest drivers installed.
-24bit,4800hz
-Levels all set to 100%
-Enhancements> Disable all sound effects.
-Dolby>Natural Bass checked
Exclusive mode:(checked by default, unchecked and rechecked)
-Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
-Give exclusive mode application priority

Configuration: Stereo
Device advanced settings:
-Mute the rear output device when a front headphone plugged in. (Headset not currently connected while testing)


Tried everything l can think of and out of options.
Please advise.

Win7 64bit
MB: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Ram: 12G
CPU-Intel i7 3.20ghz
GPU: Nvidia 9800gx-2
Audio: Realtek HD Audio Manager
Audio Driver version: 6.0.1.6077
DirectX 11.0
Audio Controller HD Audio
Audio Codec - ALC889

No problems detected.

  The information supplied is excellent.....the toy and driver list is excellent...........But!

                                 "audio speaker problems"

              So are they on fire :o.........no sound what so ever  >:(........crackling when an app is going :-[.......... ?
