H57M-USB3 dead bios?

Hi

Yesterday i was tweaking my pc abit, and i did overclock it abit more then it liked...
so as always when iam pushing it too far, i disconnect the power and waited for a few minuttes and then turned on the power again.

But nothing happend, it didnt start up - it was just constant restarting. Then i tried remove to battery for a few minuttes, but samt thing, it didnt help.

Then last resort was to try put a jumper on the 2 pins "CLR_CMOS" but same thing, nothing happend when i was trying to start up the pc.

Is the bios dead and gone? any sugestions?

Well it could be several different things to be fair. The memory might be cooked, the CPU couild be burnt, the motherboard could be damaged or the PSU could be gone. I would suggest doing the paperclip test on the PSU and see if it will at least run a fan.

Try putting just one stick of memory in the first slot.

Try a prolonged clear of the CMOS by removing the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

The PC does start up, the PSU running and all fans is active, but it just keep restarting, like every 4 second.
I did test CPU, RAM, GFXcard and PSU in another mobo, and all is working fine, except the H57M mobo

Is there any that the backup bios failed to load, and is there a way to recover it?
or does this sound like the mobo is dead from overclocking?

Trying the components in another motherboard doesn't actually prove much apart from the fact that they are not totally dead.

You could try to get the Backup BIOS to flash over the Main BIOS and see if that helps. What BIOS version is on the Backup chip ?

This is fiddly and can take a few tries to get it to work as the timing is critical.

You can kick in the backup BIOS by shutting down the PSU from the wall, then hold down your case power button in and then turn on the power supply button, a few seconds later the board will start, shut off the power supply then.   Then you can turn on the power supply again and power up the board normally and DualBIOS will kick in.
