[GV-N560SO-1GI-950] Crashing for 6 months now.

Dear Gigabyte and co.

I'm a co-owner of a Gaming/PC modding Distributor in Belgium. Around 6 months ago we bought a GV-N560SO-1GI-950 v1.0 to put in our
showcase PC to take to LAN's, Events, ... but we had problems since then, it just keeps crashing, we lowered the clocks and it's better, but still it isn't fixed.
Now with the latest games we tried again at default/stock speeds just to get those few more FPS to make it run smooth, but crashes and a full reboot is needed.
It looks like i'm not the only one with this problem.
Now my question is: is there a fix for it, like a official BIOS? Or does this fall under warranty, because we need a stable card in our system.

Intel i7 990x
Gigabyte G1.Sniper or Asus Workstation motherboard (it crashes on both)
24gb DDR3 2200mhz
1500w PSU
Windows 7 x64

Hi, well... we are a lot of people with the same problem,it seems to be a common problem with factory OCed cards, in my case with a GV-N460OC-1GI and Battlefield 3, tried all you can imagine, and the ONLY solution for me was increase the gpu core voltage with MSI Afterburner from default 0.987v to 1.012V and after that NEVER a single crash; so you can try that. Meanwhile, waiting for a BIOS update. Already writed to Gigabyte about this problem pointing to this forums and others from the web, i will post any news about this issue.

Thx for the info, yeah I know it can be solved with a program like OC Guru from Gigabyte and increase the voltage.
But i'm not satisfied with this, It has to work out of the box.

Yeah, agree completely with your opinion, lets hope Gigabyte fix this ASAP.Meanwhile you could try increasing GPU Voltage 0,025v, works perfect for my card, no temp increasig (never above 70C under load) and most important never a single crash after that in Battlefield 3.

Hi and welcome.

As you have already noticed there is a bit of an issue with these cards especially the factory overclocked ones. At the moment I am not aware of any official fix in fact everything is extremely quiet on this front which makes me think that maybe there is no way to fix it properly. However against that there are many people that seem to manage to get it running properly by the voltage increase. I think there must be more to it than that because otherwise Gigabyte would have issued a firmware update ages ago. Maybe it is that applying this fix shortens the life of the card or something similar and they don't want many, many cards being returned under warranty with a burnt out GPU.


I am sure that your card is under warranty for this as it doesn't work as it should out of the box.

Thank you for the comment on it. If I would send the card under warranty, would I get the same card/type in return, or would it be another 560ti?

Normally you would have to return the card to the retailer where they would either replace the card with another identical one or return it for repair to Gigabyte (RMA).
