GA-P67A-UD7-B3: RAID10 & EFI & GPT & BOOT
« on: September 21, 2011, 09:35:35 am »
Hi,

I want to boot/install Windows 7 64bit (fresh install with DVDROM) on a RAID10 (Intel RST) of 4x2TB HDD Samsung (so, 4TB usable) with GPT partition.
Can anyone (Gigabyte technicians?) provide me a step-by-step procedure?
Because I am unable to find any information (manual or google/internet) about Hybrid EFI usage. We just have the option in BIOS.

My hardware setup:
-4xHDD on SATA 3Gb/s ports (not on 6Gb/s)
-Bios F6B (it's to have the last official Intel RAID OROM: 10.6.0.1091)

PS: I used some other board with UEFI, so I know how it works.

Regards.

I am wondering the same thing, are these hybrid EFI boards able to boot from GPT partition with 64-bit OS?

ok seems theres plenty of info about it in other threads, like: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=5156.0

Any news about that, I am unable to install Windows 7 on GPT with EFI enable in Bios.
I use Bios F6.

I found my problem and Gigabyte must document it:
- For your CDROM/DVDROM only use the SATA of Intel Chipset (1-6)
- Put EFI in BIOS
- Use last Bios (F6 for GA-P67A-UD7-B3)
- SATA must be RAID(XHD) or AHCI
