GA-P76A-UD3-B3: Question about the ATX Connector (white wire)

Hi!
I recently bought the GA-P76A-UD3-B3 Motherboard and a Thermaltake TR2 RX 850W Power Supply. Reading the manual of the motherboard, i find out that the conector of 24 pins, the number 20 requires -5V. When i look in my connector of my power supply, this doesn' have it. I read that it used to be a white wire and it was necessary for former motherboards. My question is, can i use this connector on my motherboard? Am i going to have problems because my connector doesn't have the -5V but my motherboards need it?

Hi and welcome.

Yes you can use the PSU with you new motherboard no problem. It is an old out of date voltage  that doesn't have a use any more.

I'm confused now, because at the same time i was asking about this in this forum i asked about it to technical support. And now they answered me and they told me that the white wire with the -5V was necessary or else the motherboard wouldn't turn on or wouldn't send any image. 
Are they wrong about it? I think so because if the motherboards need it, a lot of them would be having problems with the modern power supplies.

Are you sure is not this motherboard : GA-P76A-UD3-B3  

Have you a posibility to take a picture about the 20-24 pin connector from PSU...
 Specifically the wire betwen 18-24 pins. And give us here.

About my motherboard, yes it was my mistake, it's the GA-P67A-UD3-B3.
I really apreciate the link you posted but I'm sorry  , I forgot to tell you that i changed my power supply.
Now i have a Corsair TX750W

But all remains the same because this one neither have the white wire (-5V) in the 20th pin.
About the diagram picture that you added, that's exactly my question. In the forum i have been told that it doesn't matter that the atx connector doesn't have the white wire, and the technical support told me it was neccesary. So i think they're wrong, because a lot of motherboards are like this one and don't have problems with modern power supplies.

Well, me too I have a Corsair PSU. TX950W.

At de position 20 of pin, my cable ATX 24pins from PSU, is empty.
I reformulate, for more precision.... the hole for the connection of cable No. 20 is empty.

I do not think it causes problems. Needs to come back here.

EDIT01:
I find this infos, extract:
20    -5V         White    -5 VDC  
(this is optional on newer ATX-2 supplies, it is for use with older AT class expansion cards and can be omitted on newer units)

Probably is like the 18e position in ATX 20pins (not a 24pins)  (2002 v1.2 made optional, 2004 v2.01 removed from specification)

Yes as I said it was an old out of date spec that is no longer used (or required) and many of the newer PSUs don't even have this wire in the 24 pin bundle. You can quite happilly use the new power supply with no problems on a modern motherboard.

I don't think the techies you spoke to really know what they are talking about
