X58A-UD3R and keyboard/mouse in rear USB port
« on: November 14, 2011, 07:00:40 pm »
Why does not BIOS recognize my USB keyboard/mouse when plugged into the rear USB ports? It seems like I have to plug it into the front USB ports located on my cabinet. Is there any BIOS settings that must be altered for BIOS to recognize them?

Hi

Normally if anything it works the other way around and they are not seen on the front ports. The only thing I can think of would be if the sender was shielded more on the rear and so wasn't getting the signal properly.

What mouse and keyboard is it you have ?

Hi TrondS,

Check parameters in Integrated Peripherals section in Bios:

USB Controllers
Enables or disables the integrated USB controller. (Default: Enabled)
Disabled will turn off all of the USB functionalities below. USB Legacy Function
Allows USB keyboard to be used in MS-DOS. (Default: Enabled) USB Storage Function
Determines whether to detect USB storage devices, including USB flash drives and USB hard drives during the POST. (Default: Enabled)

Choose Enabled.

Edit01 : If you use a Wireless keyboard or mouse , check a batterie force. Maybe is not powerfull.

The standard Bios on X58A is USB keyboard enabled, Mouse disabled, so that needs resetting. The USB 3 affected my USB 2
Keyboard / Mouse so disabled it. Found when you plugged in another USB device lost Mouse function from transmitter until
removed & plugged in again.

Regards tinker.

Hi Tronds,

if you do not use a USB3 peripheral
Disable USB3 in BIOS. And after remove the driver pack.
