GA-MA78MLT-S2 : beeping incessantly !!! WinXP,...
« on: November 16, 2011, 06:22:11 pm »
Once again, as per my previous post:
http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,6010.msg47412.html#msg47412

please read above for details, from a previous post with the SAME issues, it's very tiring to constantly re-explaining everything !
Of course now it's a different MB ->GA-MA78MLT-S2 rev.3.4 <- (I just bought this yesterday -LoL).

But anyway, ..., that's right, if I disable in "BIOS" under "PC Health Status" -> "CPU Warning Temerature",  then not only does the stoopid incessant beeping stop, but also, my CPU usage goes from an erratic 50% back down to a nominal 1%, ?!!! -nice and fast again.

 So what gives Gigabyte, ???
 and no, I'm not buying a $200+ MB, or a $600 UD9* just to fix it. :(
This is most obviously now a coding problem with your BIOS, as I'm sure these aren't the only (Gigabyte) Motherboards with this issue.
It's been way too long now, so plz just FIX IT (Gigabyte) !!, a Ticket to repair these BIOS issues is coming your way.
And this time, if you, once again, fail to face / FIX this issue, then for the same money, I'll go elsewhere, (aka asus, biostar, msi, ...), and thus avoid your negligence.

This is OBVIOUSLY NOT a Windows,.... issue, it's a definite problem with your BIOS, and no, I'm not using any Beta-BIOS either, although I did try "YOUR" recommended-standard F12, F13, and F14 bios updates on this board, and they ALL gave the same bad results.

 Thankyou.

 Rick.

Hi Rick

it could be that your 1090T CPU if that is what you are running, is not fully supported. Check here: http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3583 and the continual beeping could be warning of this.

Hey there,

actually it's a PhenomII 555 Black Edition dual-core cpu.  -same as the other gigabyte board.
But I know if I put in an AMD Athlon II X2 260 3.2 Ghz, then it's fine, unfortunately I can't seem to find any of them locally anymore.

I'm just surprised Gigabyte hasn't fixed these "minor" anoyance's with a simple BIOS update on these boards yet. ?
anyway, sorry for sounding pee-d off,  I fired off yet another Tivket to Giga, so we'll see if they fix it.
I only paid $49.99(new on Sale/discount) for this MB, so I guess you get what u pay for.  -haha

hey, no problems these kind of things can be really frustrating and it doesn't matter how much the board cost, it should work properly.

So which BIOS version are you at now?
