Hi there,

check this post: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,7410.msg70474.html#msg70474 where I try to explain the steps for updating to UEFI BIOS.

The U1b is a beta BIOS but it is deemed stable enough for users to run.

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I also noticed after upgrading to beta UEFI that the voltage regulation LEDs now light continuously, never turns off.

I get that too, it's strange my PCIE lane is now x8, that sucks, i wanna new board now :P
I'l bet it's cause you're using AMD card.

I'm using i5 onboard GPU, same thing. Kind of disappointed at GB at this point, I thought we'd get a polished UEFI for an official release.
Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4, Intel i5-2500k @ 4.2GHz 1.27v, 2x4GB Corsair Venegence LP White 1666MHz 1.35V, Thermalright TRUE Rev. C, Seasonic x-560, Samsung830 128GB, WD Green 1.5TB & 3TB, E-Mu 0404 PCI, Windows 7 64-bit

Hmm, try this:
1. Download newest version of GPU-Z.
2. You have in UEFI one setting for PCIe, try changing that to gen. 1, gen. 2 and gen. 3.
3. And last, maybe its power saving feature. Try stress GPU with for example Furmark and then look at GPU-Z.
Also my card is Gigabyte, its maybe because of that.  ;D

hehe i tried a few things earlier, latest Gpu z, setting the gen x setting to 'auto' (it was on gen3 before and i've tried gen2 also).
However this is a known problem and Gigabyte are the only mobo maker to officially recognize it, they say it's cause the board is SLI /crossfire capable.
there have been other reported issues with gen 3 nvidia gpus and gen 3 mobos so that's why i think it's cause of your card, basically AMD has more compatibility with gen3 right now.

Wait, is your UD3P rev 1.0 or rev. 1.3?
My is 1.0, and it doesn't have PCIe 3.0, although UEFI says it has.  >:(

I have same as you, Rev.1
i guess the problem with gen 2 x8 max lane speed effects nvidia cards only.

Maybe. I have Gainward GTX560 Phantom in other PC with Sandy i7-2600, I'll try to put it in this Ivy configuration, so to see what happens.

That would be sweet!
I may just get an AMD card and keep this mobo for a while if it's true.

I'm running the beta uefi bios 'Z68XP-UD3P-U1A', when the next uefi bios arrives can i flash it from the bios utility Q-flash or whatever it's called?
Also i never flashed my back-up bios the first time from award, how should i flash my back-up bios the next time it gets updated, i guess it's quite tricky bit i'd like to give it a try.
