GIGABYTE latest / beta BIOS for Intel CPU motherboards

<< < (146/146)

Here is my modded bios for Gigabyte Z77-HD3 rev 1.0:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/sodbiqob5gp7szh/z77hd3-f3.zip
It's based on a unofficial F3 bios found on softpedia. Added NVME support from a newer Z79 bios. It's works like a charm with my Patriot Hellfire 240Gb M.2 SSD inserted on the fastest PCIe slot (moved video card to a slower one).
If Windows won't install you must safe erase SSD with software provided by manufacturer (in my case patriot toolbox).
Have fun!

So,to implement UEFI BIOS was been big ordeal.
Second limitation is BIOS chip size .

may we know why this double standards with same size of bios and same chip set.

pardon (for words double standards)

Thanks

PS:- why i'm here because system need uefi bios according tech guy and i don't want to build new PC if my old PC can support my requirements but for i need 4TB of drive with UEFI(as per tech guy)

Greetings,
Good questions, simple answer.

While hardware can always be a mitigating factor, the decision was likely due to which board was selling better or was anticipated to have more longevity.

so, i like to know if i can install same to my board z68x-ud7-b3 or not?

Thank you

The simple answer is no, you cannot use the BIOS for one motherboard on a different model with the same chipset.

This is because of the different components used on each different motherboard and the way that the BIOS has been configured to work with the basic chipset and other hardware.

If you try to flash the BIOS with a different model's BIOS it will usually fail and give a warning that the BIOS is the incorrect version.

Rather than flashing the BIOS have you tried to run the 3Tb+ unlock utility?
You can download it from here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3-rev-10#support-dl and I would try this rather than attempting to flash the BIOS.
