Hi sorry to bother you but I am wondering if you could bring out another bios update to solve current problems I am having.
First off is my current spec etc.
Intel Core2 quad... Q6700 kentsfield
Gigabyte 965-S3 revision 3.3
Corsair Dominator 1066 ram . 2.1volts 5/5/5/15 timings at 1066..{ thats their rated settings}
Radeon HD4870 1gb
Agiea PhysX card
Creative Xi-fi
Western digital 2TB main hard drive and Maxtor diamond max 250gb as secondary back up drive
Windows 7  64bit  with service pack 1 and all latest updates installed

My problem is that this motherboard does not seem to like the dominator memory.. it wont let me run the memory at its propper 1066 speed and it doesnt matter what I do to set the timings manualy etc.. it still wont boot on 1066.
Also it doesn't seem to like my Q6700 much either as to get this board to run at 333 fsb.. with 10x multiplier has been a bugger to put it mildly.. and even now I have got it to run.. I have had to up the cpu voltage to higher than it actually needs.... also the ram now is running at 833 rather than what I want which is 1066 as it should be.
Now before you say to me its not the motherboard etc.
Here is my point...Before this cpu and ram ..I had a E6300 in it with corsair 800mhz ram.. and had this board to 450 and eve 480 fsb... witht the ram running at 900 when on 450  and on 960 when on 480 fsb... that ran like a dream with no problems at all.. totally stable etc.. just the HD died but thats life and I have now got this cpu and ram from a friend along with Nvidia 780sli motherboard. I tried the CPU in nvidia motherboard and had that at 333 fsb and the ram running at 1066 with no problems at all and running at 1.33 volts to the cpu { set at 1.4 in bios on nvidia board due to vdrop}.I tried higher on the nvidia and had the cpu posting at 4.025 and 4.1 ghz.. but alas the nvidia chipset just got too hot even with fans on to keep the northbridge stable on that motherboard..
Hence I popped in this old faithful P965-S3 board as I knew it was more capable as I had used it before.
But alas there is something going on with the bios F14 that is stopping me getting a decent OC out of this system..  as knocking on 4ghz is what I want to be able to do.
Could you make a newer bios that allows for dominator 1067 ram? with correct timings?  and also that the Q6700 is supported correctly?  as it is definately seeming like a bios problem with my Q6700 and Dominator ram...
As i said earlier I know that this board is far more than capable of high fsb speeds and should be able to find the cpu ceiling of around 4.1ghz..... as I would like to be able to run my ram at 1:1 settings so its in line with the CPU fsb.. I should be able to run 450 to 480 fsb with 8 x multiplier to get to the cpu's ceiling which then would mean that the domintaor ram would be running at 900 to 960 mhz... which would then in theory do fine performance wise.....But as soon as the ram gets near 1000  this board doesnt like it and refuses to boot and eventually go's back to basic settings..
Please help me out with this by bringing out a newer bios to solve the issues I have...pretty please.....
As I have been overclocking CPU's for absolutely ages.. so i know what I am doing but alas the board is just not liking my two peices of hardware with F14 bios revision :-(..
Please please please please please help me with a better bios update!!!

Thanks
Mike

Hi and welcome.

If you would like to ask for a customised BIOS  or suggest for some reason that Gigabyte should write an update then it is no good posting here I'm afraid. You would need to contact GGTS directly.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

Please expect several days for a reply.
