GA-Z68AP-D3: Touch BIOS not installing, "quick boot" power consumption

Hey there!

I have Windows 7 64-bit

I recently bought a GA-Z68AP-D3 motherboard, it works great except that the Touch BIOS won't install. That or I'm doing it wrong. First I tried from the CD, I clicked "install everything" or something alike and it didn't install the touch BIOS so I googled it and found the archive containing the touch BIOS and installed it. No dice. Do I need to do something except installing and just clicking "delete" at the POST screen? I also flashed my BIOS to the latest version before doing this.

I found that the quick boot feature is pretty good and I decided I wanted to try it. But how much power does it use? Barely anything, or? Also can I make it so moving the mouse won't power the system back up or is that just a Windows setting?

Also real quick, the on-board soundcard only has mic, line in and the green out. My 5.1 sound system uses 3 cables (black, green and brown) is there a converter I can buy somewhere? I realize this question does not belong in this forum but might as well ask here instead of making more threads.

Help is appreciated!

EDIT: Ah! I thought that the Touch BIOS was to be accessed from the POST screen and not from within the OS itself! It thought it was weird that it was just an installer. I found it in my start menu... I feel dumb now

Hi and glad to see that your problem is resolved and don't worry about it as we have all done that type of thing.
As for the onboard sound usually the outlets are configurable for whatever is plugged ionto them. If you put a plug in one a dialogue box should open and ask what it is that you have just attached.

Actually I have just been checking up and it is slightly more involved than that on this motherboard. Acording to the manual:

2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
* To configure 7.1-channel audio, you have to use an HD front panel audio module and enable the multi-channel audio feature through the audio driver.

Yes I read that in the manual as well, but it seems that the 5.1 audio can come out of the 1 green plug since there is only 1 line-out which is that green one.

There is also the motherboard  audio header which is where thje rest of the signal will come from.
