GA-990FXA-UD3 USB 3.0

Hi

I have now tried all the Etron drivers, but i just can`t get USB 3.0 to work properly..(they run 2.0 on ver 105)

I`m running bios F6e (beta)...it`s a new system, and I haven`t tried the F5 bios...my board was unstable (couldn`t always remember my bios settings), so I went for the newest..

My system is windows 7 64 bit (clean install) - My CPU is the FX-6100

I have been a fan of Gigabyte boards quite some time now, I hope this can be solved  :)

I have 3 GA-990FXA-UD3 boards currently running. I have never had a problem with USB 3.0.

Did you turn USB 3.0 on in the BIOS under Integrated Peripherals?  It comes default - ON  but could have been changed somehow.

That usually is a driver issue and in my experience is not always true. After seeing that phrase I have tested the USB 3.0 device a  few times
and the speed was definitely USB 3.0 speed. I have also reinstalled the drivers a few times and the phrase didn't come back.

Thanks for reply:)

I use 2 Buffalo USB 3.0 external harddrives (HD-HXU3) and they don`t work with the Etron driver, I think...

I`ve just tried formatting one of them, but that didn`t solve anything. The harddrives show a green light when they`re running USB 2.0 & a blue light when running USB 3.0. I just have the green light...and tested the speed and USB 2.0 it is...

I have tried reinstalling many times by now..

I will buy a PCI card with USB 3.0...that must be it...

Have you checked with Buffalo for firmware update and or a driver from Buffalo.

I was having problems with USB 3 GA-880GMA-USB 3 driver 105ver with western digital USB 3 what it was doing for me
it would kick the hard drive out and show in my computer that i no longer had that drive and
sometimes it wouldn't be there on a reboot finally got it fixed it was WD I needed a Firmware update.

Yes, I have checked Buffalo - There haven`t been an update to my drives since 2010... :(

Now, I have bought a pci USB 3.0 card, and now they`re running like they should..

On my older Gigabyte motherboard with the USB 3 NEC-controller I had no problems..

After more reading, I think that the problem is, that this board hasn`t enough juice to run my harddrives...
