Let me begin by saying I have two completely identical systems that I have just built.
The case for both has 2 USB ports on the front of each, with a USB 3.0 header. The MBs obviously came with a USB 3.0 to 2.0 header adapter.
The problem is that the USB 3.0 ports on the front of one system's case will not recognize any devices plugged into them. Under Device Manager, it is recognized as a "Generic USB Hub," but each time I plug a USB drive in it says "USB Device not recognized." I have tried it with no USB 3.0 to 2.0 header adapter, and I've tried it with the adapter as well. I've tried loading BIOS defaults. I've tried updating (as well as rolling back) the BIOS. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the chipset driver and the USB 3.0 driver.
The truly puzzling thing is that the other system works perfectly fine with the USB 3.0 to 2.0 header adapter used.
Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: Eerily enough, the USB 3.0 ports on the MB itself also seem to not be working correctly.
