GA-EX58-UD3R rev 1.6 with CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9
« on: December 29, 2011, 07:04:14 pm »
I have the above mentioned motherboard with 1600 DDR3 OCZ gold, but I've always had issues with this configuration so I had to downlcock to 1333 to get it to work without crashing.

I want to upgrade my memory and want to go with the corsair vengeance 3X4 (CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9).
The gigabyte website memory compatability list is severely outdated but on the corsair website it says this memory should be compatible with the GA-EX58-UD3R-sli series.

My question is, it specifically says "GA-EX58-UD3R-SLI" whereas my motherboard is GA-EX58-UD3R rev 1.6.
Can I expect it to work without any issues?

Hi therob and welcome to the forum,

One approach you could take with this is to ask the question on the Corsair forum.....may be ask the  Moderator by the name of Ram Guy  and I'm sure you will get an answer to your question. The link is here:

Thanks, I posted there also but I'm still curious to see if anyone can answer the question here.

Hi,

Well in some respects you have answered your own question....I would have looked at the QVL list....but there are far too many RAM modules for everything to be listed. If you want to use Corsair RAM....then what is better than to ask on their forum, you could raise a Gigabyte ticket  support and  wait several days.....that is another option. But you may get an answer to your question from Corsair in a shorter space of time.

Also, members on this forum are not employees of Gigabyte......so are good natured in helping others out when and if they can.

Hope this helps
